Once a month, CAMMAC singers and instrumentalists get together and
"read through" a mass, cantata or opera (for choir and orchestra)
under the direction of a professional choir director. Occasionally
readings feature pieces for a capella choir (singers
only) or symphonies or other orchestral works (instrumentalists only).
The read-throughs
are not intended as rehearsals, and we do not perform for any
formal audience, although listeners are welcome. Depending on the
length of the work, most or all of the sections of the work
are read through once or twice, in order to introduce the participants
to the work.
